Preliminary task - Location Permission

Preliminary task - Camera skills

What are the benefits of using a tripod and shooting multi-camera?
Benefits for tripod... It allows you to keep the camera still in one position with it wobbling or shaking. It also allows you to do pans and tilts much easier.
Benefits for shooting multi-camera... It makes it easier to film using the 180 degree rule. It makes filming quicker as you're not just using one camera to get every single shot. You don't have to move the camera back and forth as much.

Preliminary task - teamwork

I am working with Stephen for my preliminary task. We have been working well together. we managed to sort out a date to film easily and got it done quickly. We have come across a few small problems during our task, such as location, but we discussed the problem and managed to sort it out quickly, making working together very easy.

Preliminary task - our idea

For the preliminary task I am working with Stephen Page, we have been asked to make a film lasting 1 mintue and edit it. the clip has to include; two people, entering a room, a conversation, it must demonstarte shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule. we also have to create an A3 movie poster to go with our film, using adobe photoshop. we will also have to evaluate our work.

Our deadlines are: Pre-Production 7th november - 18th november, Production 19th november - 26th novemeber, Post-Production 27th november - 12th december, Presentation Day - Mm1 13th december

Our roles are: Me- camera, Stephen- director, editing

I hope to develop my filming, i could improve my camera work because i haven't used the camera before. i could also improve my editing, as i haven't done any of that before either, i could do this by watching some of the tutorials.

Our first idea- Our intial idea is two characters ( Molli and Matt) who walk into eachother at queensgate stairwell. Something will fall out of mollis bag. Matt will pick it up and run after to give it to her. A few lines of dialogue will be exchanged. Then both Characters will go there seperate ways. We may not be able to do this as they have to sit down infront of one another.

The Chase Task

In my team for The Chase Task, there was me, Lauren, Charley and Caitlyn. We all discussed beforehand what roles we would like to play in the production. Everyone agreed on their role and was happy with it. Lauren was the director, Caitlyn was the camera woman. And me and charley were the actors. We did some planning before we started filming. We got a map of the school and planned out a root of the chase, which helped save time when filming. We decided that Charley would be chasing me and she would wear a white top to represent good and I would wear a dark top to represent bad. We had a few small problems while filming with other people filming in the same location, so we overcame this by moving to our next location and going back to the other one when people had finished there. After filming Charley and Lauren did most of the editing, but me and Caitlyn checked over it to make sure we were happy with it.
